Refund Policy

This policy covers paid listing subscriptions (the Pro and Premium plans) that rental companies buy on CarRentalList. Browsing and using the public directory is free; this policy applies only to paid subscriptions.

1. Automatic Renewal

Paid plans are subscriptions. You choose a monthly or yearly billing period, and the plan renews automatically at the published price for that plan at the start of each period, until you cancel. Each payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal, which you open with the "Manage billing" button on your listing's billing page. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for; it is not cut off immediately. At the end of that period the listing returns to the Free plan and automatic billing stops.

3. Refunds

Subscription fees are billed in advance for each billing period. Because your plan stays fully active until the end of the period you have already paid for, we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.

4. Free Trial

Eligible listings can start a 14-day Pro trial with no credit card, once per listing. The trial does not charge you: when it ends, the listing simply returns to the Free plan unless you choose to subscribe. If you subscribe to Pro during the trial, your first payment is normally taken when the trial ends; subscribing to Premium, or in the final hours of the trial, may start billing right away. The checkout page shows when your first charge will occur before you confirm.

A first Premium checkout may instead include a 14-day Stripe trial that does require a card. That trial converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before the trial is over.

5. Founding-Member Pricing

Founding-member prices, offered while founding spots remain, are locked for 12 months from the date you subscribe. The lock applies to the founding price of your plan for that period; normal renewal and cancellation terms above still apply.

6. Price Changes

We may change plan prices from time to time. Any price change applies to future billing periods only, never to a period you have already paid for. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

7. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us before opening a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Almost every billing question can be resolved quickly, and cancelling through the Customer Portal stops future charges right away.
